Every case is different. Depending on the complexity of your case and the potential courses of action, your case may incur high costs. It’s important to realize the financial commitment associated with divorce cases.
Depending on the case, it may be an hourly contract rate or a flat fee. In addition, a retainer fee is usually required. You will also be responsible for any court costs incurred.
Some of these costs may include:
Court filing fee (Filing your case.): $150.00
Process Service fee (Serving papers to the opposing party.): $50.00 and up.
Guardian ad Litem Fee (if child custody is contested).
Mediation Fee: $175.00 – $500.00
*In most cases, mediation is mandatory in South Carolina.
Throughout your representation we help to analyze costs and benefits of potential courses of action. Every month you will receive an itemized invoice of the work and subsequent costs for your case.
Our bookkeeper, Denise Lusk, will help you with your account and financial obligations.
If at any time you desire to know your balance, contact our office. While you are responsible for the fees and costs of a divorce, often times we will ask the Court to require your spouse to pay all or part of your incurred balance if possible.
We accept MasterCard, Visa and Discover to help you pay your fees.
